Prospective PhD students: Please apply to the Computer Science department at USC and indicate your interest in my lab. I would encourage you to also send me an email when you apply with:

1-2 sentences about who you are, your alma mater, research background etc.

2-3 sentences about your research interests, projects or papers that you like -- I encourage you to read our most recent papers and think of which aspect of my research excites you the most.

1 sentence with an interesting fact about you :)

I read and take note of all emails. Because of the large volume of emails, I am not be able to respond to individual emails.

Master's and undergraduate students at USC: Typically Master's and undergraduate students join existing projects and work directly with a PhD student, with the expectation that eventually they will be leading their own projects. Please send me a email including the three bullet points indicated above. Please also attach a cv with your current GPA. As soon as there is an opening that fits your interests, we will reach out to you to discuss how you can join. Taking my annual CS545 Robotics class and having excellent performance is a great way to get familiar with our work and learn the basic skills required to participate in our research.
